the warmth
of my child's body
wrapped in my embrace-
I hold her, wondering how
I ever lived without it...

- Kristin Riggs
- I have had a passion for the written word, especially poetry, from an early age. I am first and foremost a child of God-a thankful recipient of His grace. I am also a mother, a teacher, a singer,and an overall music lover. I call the beautiful southern United States home, and growing up and raising my family here has shaped who I am in many ways. I believe that life- with its various emotions, experiences, trials, and joys-is a gift from my Heavenly Father. As a poet, I hope that my work expresses this. I am married for ten years and childless, but may be for a loving niece, I can relate with this too well....she is now about twenty! :)
