Wow...thank you everyone! I really appreciate all the kind words. Bill...you should try a tanka. Anyone who write beautiful haiku like yours would surely be a master at writing tanka as well. :)
I meant "writes"...leave it to the English teacher. Subject-verb agreement is very important to me. Unfortunately, my fingers get away from me sometimes when I type. :) Oops.
I have had a passion for the written word, especially poetry, from an early age. I am first and foremost a child of God-a thankful recipient of His grace. I am also a mother, a teacher, a singer, and an overall music lover. I call the beautiful southern United States home, and growing up and raising my family here has shaped who I am in many ways. I believe that life- with its various emotions, experiences, trials, and joys-is a gift from my Heavenly Father. As a poet, I hope that my work expresses this.
"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him." -Psalm 62:1
Some of my poetry has been published in the online journals Simply Haiku and Notes from the Gean.

I generally don't comment on tanka, since I rarely write them, but I really like this.
