Thank you all. This was inspired by the little red tricycle lying in our backyard. There is more than one layer to this. It's about the change of season of course, but also about my little one growing up. She got a big girl bike the other day...another season in her little life as well.
I have had a passion for the written word, especially poetry, from an early age. I am first and foremost a child of God-a thankful recipient of His grace. I am also a mother, a teacher, a singer, and an overall music lover. I call the beautiful southern United States home, and growing up and raising my family here has shaped who I am in many ways. I believe that life- with its various emotions, experiences, trials, and joys-is a gift from my Heavenly Father. As a poet, I hope that my work expresses this.
"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him." -Psalm 62:1
Some of my poetry has been published in the online journals Simply Haiku and Notes from the Gean.

I see this, you have such a way Kristin ;)
ReplyDeleteA touch of sadness makes this a great haiku for the seasonal change...
ReplyDeletenice poem, good image. it's always refreshing to find another poet who doesn't think haiku must be 5-7-5.
