Today we took our little girl to her preschool open house. Where did my baby go? She is growing up so fast...and today I'm not dealing with that very well!
It is hard Kristin. I have raised 2 daughters myself, they are probably close to your age and I remember exactly what you are going through and at every stage and age of their lives. Try to always remember with each growth and each new thing in her life there is so much more to experience , so much enjoyment yet to come. Keep writing, I wish I had written when mine were young. Write to her as she grows up and you will both have memories on paper to enjoy that is just mom and daughter moments. The love a mother has for her children is like no other:)I so relate to what is in your heart!
Thank you for your thoughts...Ralf, I really don't agree with myself!!! In reality, I wouldn't keep her small even if I could, because Cindy is right...every age and stage is precious and brings its own joy. I was just having a weak mommy day. :)
I love this poem! Your daughter will treasure it when she is older! You should frame it for her. Your poems are amazing. I wish I had your touch with words.
I have had a passion for the written word, especially poetry, from an early age. I am first and foremost a child of God-a thankful recipient of His grace. I am also a mother, a teacher, a singer, and an overall music lover. I call the beautiful southern United States home, and growing up and raising my family here has shaped who I am in many ways. I believe that life- with its various emotions, experiences, trials, and joys-is a gift from my Heavenly Father. As a poet, I hope that my work expresses this.
"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him." -Psalm 62:1
Some of my poetry has been published in the online journals Simply Haiku and Notes from the Gean.
