This is my classroom. I was too tired on the first day to write...nothing left to give! So...I'm writing about the first day of school on the second. There's just something about the first day of school. A silent anxiety seems to hang in the room for a little while until they realize that their teacher is perfectly flawed and in many ways not much different from them. My cover is usually blown the very first day!!! ha!
I have had a passion for the written word, especially poetry, from an early age. I am first and foremost a child of God-a thankful recipient of His grace. I am also a mother, a teacher, a singer, and an overall music lover. I call the beautiful southern United States home, and growing up and raising my family here has shaped who I am in many ways. I believe that life- with its various emotions, experiences, trials, and joys-is a gift from my Heavenly Father. As a poet, I hope that my work expresses this.
"My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him." -Psalm 62:1
Some of my poetry has been published in the online journals Simply Haiku and Notes from the Gean.

ReplyDeleteBut being with children is so refreshing...

ReplyDeleteThank you, Lorraine! That is a very kind thing to say. I hope my students feel that way, too!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI can still smell the pencil dust, and feel the fear! Seems poetic to me!
